Our Transition Program is for our future students and families to develop a sense of connection and belonging to the College in preparation for their commencement year.
Our Transition Program consists of a wide range of activities and events including our ‘School of Program,’ for our future students in Years 3 - 6. Our future students can engage in a variety of afterschool activities including Art, Sport, Debating, Drama, Robotics and Music. Students develop new skills, meet the College staff and make new friends. The development of these important relationships contributes to a supportive social environment during the program and when they commence at the College. Our Transition Program also consists of our Positive Parenting Seminars for our staff and future parents/caregivers. Positive Parenting Seminars focus on important topics about navigating tween and teenage years together, with strong home and school partnerships. Future students and families are also invited to a wide range of College events and are a part of the LHC community. These events include International Women’s Day, P&F Mother Daughter High Tea, Morning Tours and Open Days.
Future students who engage in our ‘School of Program’ develop a sense of belonging to the College community. This sense of connection positively impacts our future student’s overall wellbeing and excitement for their transition to a new school.
Our program also allows students and families to become comfortable and familiar with our College facilities and precinct. Knowing the layout of the College, classrooms and facilities helps students confidently navigate their new environment when they begin.
