Our careers education program aims to help our students develop an awareness of their individual interests, skills, abilities and values. In order to identify how these may be related to potential future career options. Girls from all year groups come to understand that career education is not a one-off event but part of a lifelong process.
The basic framework of the College’s Careers program is as follows:
- Years 7-8 focus on Self-Awareness
- Years 9-10 focus on Career Options
- Years 11-12 focus on Choosing Pathways
The development of knowledge, skills and attitudes through authentic learning experiences help students to develop the capacity to make informed decisions about school and post-school options. These experiences include career counselling sessions, dedicated career lessons, regular guest speakers and presentations, symposiums, workshops and work experience.
