At Lourdes Hill College, our Careers Education Program supports students to explore and prepare for future pathways.

We offer a wide range of opportunities throughout the year, including Careers Lessons, Guest Speakers, Industry Panels, Lunchtime Events, Excursions, Workplace Visits, our annual Careers and Networking Evening, Parent Information Sessions, and access to a variety of engaging resources.

Students have access to:

  • Virtual Reality (VR) headsets providing virtual job interview training and work experience scenarios
  • Career exploration websites (linked in LHC Virtual and Parent Lounge), including:
  •   Study Work Grow: General career information, including the Career Clusters quiz
  • The Careers Department: Career information platform described as “Netflix for careers”
  • UniqYou: Offers one-on-one sessions with inspiring women from traditionally male-dominated industries
  •    Career Central: Includes Career Bullseye, career quizzes and pathway tools

We also strongly encourage students to participate in opportunities outside the College, such as university and TAFE open days, ‘Come and Try’ events, webinars, and work experience placements.

All upcoming opportunities and events are posted in the Careers channel in each student’s Year Level TEAM and the Careers tab of the Parent App.

Later this year, we will host several key events:

  • Subject Selection Evening for Year 9 and 10 students – Monday 19 May
  • QTAC Information Night for Year 12 students and families – Wednesday 31 July
  • LHC Careers and Networking Evening for Year 10–12 students and Parents and Caregivers – Sunday 11 August

This Careers Evening is one of the largest of its kind hosted by a secondary school and offers a valuable opportunity to connect with professionals, explore industries, and consider future pathways.

We encourage all Parents and Caregivers to attend these events. Further details will be shared closer to the date.

A full list of tertiary institutions' open days is available in TEAMS and on the Parent App. Senior students considering further study are strongly encouraged to attend multiple open days to support their decision-making.

Other major upcoming events include:
