At Lourdes Hill College, ANZAC Day is a meaningful time to reflect, honour and participate in the remembrance of those who have served. Below is an outline of College activities and community services our students, staff, and families are invited to take part in this year.
College Activities
Poppy Making in the Library
Tuesday 22 April
Students are invited to take part in poppy-making at lunchtime in the Library. Each student can write a message to a serviceperson on their poppy before pinning it to our ANZAC display board.
A collection of fiction and non-fiction books related to ANZAC Day and WWI will also be available.
Student Representation at ANZAC Square Ceremony
Wednesday 23 April
Our Middle School Leaders will represent LHC at the Brisbane City ANZAC Student Commemoration Ceremony held at ANZAC Square.
Whole School ANZAC Assembly
Thursday 24 April
Our College community will come together for our annual ANZAC Day Assembly to reflect on the significance of this National Day of Remembrance.
Families are warmly encouraged to attend a local ANZAC Day ceremony. Students representing Lourdes Hill College are asked to wear their full formal uniform.
Location: Oxford Street, Bulimba
Time: March begins at 7.30am
Students will March as flag bearers, wreath layers and readers. Families are welcome to join or support from Memorial Park.

Time: March from 9.45am | Ceremony at 10.30am
Our Band, Choir, and trumpet soloist will perform. Students will also serve as speakers and flag bearers.

Location: Assembling at Camp Hill Hotel
Time: Arrive at 7:30am | March begins at 8:00am
Students will March with the Camp Hill community along Old Cleveland Road.

The March concludes with a wreath-laying ceremony in Richard Russell Park.
