Our focus for 2025 is Sacred Paths. As you may be aware, Pope Francis has dedicated 2025 as a Year of Jubilee. This tradition predates Christianity and has its roots in Jewish customs. It is a time for a genuine encounter with the Risen Jesus. The Catholic Church celebrates a Year of Jubilee, or Holy Year, every 25 years. An important image of this Jubilee is the door. Pope Francis opened the Jubilee doors at St Peter’s Basilica to mark the beginning of this significant year. Already, large numbers of people have entered St Peter’s through these sacred doors.

Change of Timetable Structure
As communicated last year, we are moving to a 10-day timetable consisting of Week A and Week B. This transition phase is part of implementing the recommendations from the 2024 Curriculum Review. Additionally, the daily structure has been updated to include a slightly later start, accommodating the many before-school activities. Lessons on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday will be 60 minutes, with five lessons per day. Thursday, being Assembly Day, will include five lessons plus the assembly. The updated daily structure is as follows:

Electives in Middle School
We are currently exploring elective options for Years 8, 9, and 10 as part of the next phase of the Curriculum Review implementation. Further information will be shared as this plan is developed.

Building Names
We are transitioning away from using letters to name our buildings (e.g., E Block). Instead, buildings will now be referred to by their official names. For example:

  • E Block will now be known as the Bacolod Building, with rooms identified as BAC11, BAC12, etc.

We are confident that students will adapt quickly to this change.

As always, please don’t hesitate to contact the College if you have any questions or need clarification.
