The Lourdes Hill College community is committed to enhancing the faith journey of all members. We are an authentic Catholic community which is welcoming of all, and our faith underpins all aspects of College life.

Lourdes Hill College is a Catholic school in the tradition of the Sisters of the Good Samarian. The Sisters hold a deep commitment to education that aims to:

  • respect all people and creation
  • seek peace through justice
  • exercise leadership
  • generously reaching out to those in need
  • instil hope in our future
  • create a love of learning nourished and challenged by the Gospel.

Our charism is grounded in the story of St Bernadette and our Lady of Lourdes, the Parable of the Good Samaritan and The Rule of St Benedict. Our College values of Stability, Stewardship, Balance, Love of Neighbour, Peace, Community, Listening, Hospitality, Respect, Justice are inspired by the Gospel and The Rule of St Benedict.

Our Good Samaritan ethos encourages our students to become active, generous and responsible global citizens. At Lourdes Hill College we are called to inspire young women to put their faith into action for the benefit of others. We actively encourage our students to recognise and respect the opportunities we have to serve our communities and our environment. Student can live out these actions at the College through a variety of donation drives throughout the year, or by joining a Service Group offered to their particular year level.

Our Mission

At Lourdes Hill College we are called to inspire young women to put their faith into action for the benefit of others.

We explore our faith life through our Religious Education program and the prayer and liturgical life of the College. We live our faith through our daily interactions, our Service Programs and through our commitment to social justice.

At Lourdes Hill College, all students study Religious Education. These programs are developed by the Archdiocese of Brisbane and cover four main themes: Beliefs, Sacred Texts, The Church and Christian Life. Each year student will also participate in a Spirituality Day designed specifically for their year level.

Prayer is a significant aspect of the religious life of our College. Prayer is said at the start and end of each day as well as at each assembly. Mass is celebrated weekly every Thursday morning before school for anyone who would like to attend. As a College community we also gather in worship for mass or liturgies each Term to celebrate Lourdes Day, the Feast of St Benedict, Ash Wednesday, Christmas and Easter.
