If you would prefer to use an agent for your enrolment application
The AEAS Examination is preferred, particularly for Years 5 to 9. School-assessed written pieces of work in English may also be requested as part of the application. Please note that the scores above are a guide. Student interview determines the success of the application. All applications are assessed on an individual basis.
Depending on their English results, students may also be required to complete a Primary School Preparation (PSP) course, Secondary School Preparation (SSP) course, or ELICOS program before commencing mainstream studies at the College. In this case, the College has relationships with several leading English schools and can arrange an introduction.
Assessed written pieces of work in English may also be requested. Please note that the scores above are a guide. Student interview determines the success of the application. All applications are assessed on an individual basis.
Step 1
Submit an International Education Application Form completed by the student and their parent(s)/legal guardian(s). Attach the following supporting documentation:
The College may also ask for additional evidence of written proficiency in English as a second language such as assessed written pieces of schoolwork in English.
* It is very important that full details of any medical or psychological condition that requires medication or medical supervision, and any learning difficulties or special needs a student may have, are indicated on the application form. Failure to disclose this information at time of enrolment may be grounds for future cancellation of enrolment.
Step 2
After the application is reviewed, the student will be invited to an interview with the Head of International Education and a member of the College Leadership Team. Where possible this would be face-to-face, however, where an applicant is offshore, this can be arranged by video conferencing (e.g. Teams/ Skype/FaceTime/etc.).
The purpose of the interview is to converse in English, discuss student aspirations and school expectations, subject selection and interests, accommodation and welfare, and to answer any questions the student may have.
Step 3
The school will notify the student if they can be accepted for Direct Entry or will be required to undertake an ELICOS Course or a High School Preparation Program (HSPP) prior to beginning mainstream studies. If an ELICOS Course or HSPP is required, evidence of enrolment must be provided to the school.
Step 4
Once an application has been accepted student will be issued:
The student will also be sent a homestay application form (if homestay is required) along with other relevant enrolment documentation.
Step 5
The parent(s)/legal guardian(s) and the student sign and return the Provisional Letter of Offer, Written Agreement with confirmation of fees quoted in the Provisional Letter of Offer, and completed homestay and enrolment paperwork. Parent(s)/Legal Guardian(s) may choose to pay more than 50% of total fees in which case a separate invoice will be issued.
IMPORTANT: if an agent is involved, they cannot sign documents nor make fee payments on behalf of the student or their parent(s)/legal guardian(s).
Step 6
On receipt of payment and return of signed Enrolment Acceptance and Written Agreement, the school will issue an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) letter and (if required) a Confirmation of Accommodation and Welfare (CAAW) via PRISMS for the period the student is to be enrolled at the College. The school will provide details to the homestay provider for placement.
Step 7
The student applies for the student visa and notifies the school when it is granted.
Step 8
If the student is undertaking an ELICOS course or a HSPP prior to commencing at Lourdes Hill College, then a welcome day will be organised so that the student is able to organise school resources such as uniforms, and to discuss any subject selection queries.
Step 9
Arrangements are made for student arrival and commencement, such as homestay transfer, collecting student laptop, network onboarding, etc.
Step 10
Student commences at Lourdes Hill College and receives international orientation on arrival.
Homestay is organised through either International Student Care Australia (ISCA) or Global Student Institute (GSI), depending on the duration of student enrolment at the College, and homestay family availability. Below are their policies and documentation:
