QUT Future Leaders - 05 December 2016

Congratulations to Year 10 student, Amy Quinn, who has been accepted into QUT’s Future Leaders Program for 2017-2018. The QUT Future Leaders program offers high achieving students the opportunity to actively engage with QUT through a series of workshops and activities during Years 11 and 12, with a strong emphasis on study and life skills such as networking, leadership, innovation and entrepreneurship. Students have the opportunity to participate in a range of thought-provoking and challenging activities aimed at enhancing their senior studies by putting them in touch with like-minded students from other schools.

Upon notification of acceptance into this program, Amy said “I am very excited to have the opportunity to participate in the QUT Future Leaders Program. I am looking forward to being able to meet other students and learn valuable information whilst also being given the chance to enhance my leadership skills and gain self-confidence.”

Year 11 student, Emma Perrier, began her involvement in the program this year and is looking forward to attending more workshops throughout Year 12. She commented, "I have met a lot of new people and learnt so much about university life and, in particular, what QUT has to offer. There are so many opportunities that I never knew existed."

2016 LHC graduate, Georgia Galovic, attended many interesting workshops for the duration of her program. Georgia said “QUT Future Leaders enabled me to find out more about the fields of study I was interested in and engage with like-minded students across Queensland. The program promoted networking, and ran all-day events exclusive to Future Leaders, allowing us to gain more knowledge on university life, study tips, career pathways and so much more. It was an amazing program which encouraged students to be more proactive in their future as students and as successful leaders of the future.”

Congratulations to Georgia for completing the program and all the very best to Amy and Emma for their involvement in the program next year.
