|Together in Harmony - 28 October 2016|
The Good Samaritan Centre was glowing purple on Thursday 20 October as 150 performers celebrated 100 years of music and dance at Lourdes Hill College.
The audience was taken on a musical journey throughout the night and asked to reflect on the stories that inspire the Lourdes Hill College community. Each performance, from the Harp Sextet through to the Flute Ensemble brought great joy to the audience. One highlight included dancers and singers presenting a number from "Matilda".
The choir girls were joined by students from Iona College and sang beautifully the songs, "Mary Did You Know Me" and "Earth Song". The combined Concert Band also entertained with "A Kletzmer Karnival". A spectacular finale surprised audiences as the combined band, choir and string ensemble performed, "You Raise Me Up".
The atmosphere that was created was beyond words! The wonderful efforts of all students and staff involved are to be commended.
The school community is encouraged to join in the festivities that the Co-Curricular Cultural Department will continue to provide in 2017. Like the Centenary Concert, I am sure that next year’s performance will bring great joy to all those who attend.
