|Academic Awards Assembly - 16 August 2016|
On Tuesday 9 August, Lourdes Hill paused to recognise individual student achievements from Semester 1, 2016 at the biannual Academic Awards assembly.
The Academic Leaders, headed by our 2016 Academic Captain, Kayla Johnstone, continued the focus on the featured Habit of Mind for this year, “Metacognition”. The Academic Leaders challenged all students to think about their thinking and reflect on how they best learn. It is a skill adopted by the most successful academics, sporting stars and musicians around the world - these are the people who clearly understand how to best practise that equation, swimming technique or instrument, which assists them in mastering their passion. However, it also enables these same individuals to become aware of their weaknesses.
The full list of Academic Award recipients is available here.
As usual, Captain Mind Habit made an appearance, praising some special students who have demonstrated the importance of “Habits of Mind” in all successful learning.
Well done to the students who were awarded “Habits of Mind” medals for always being consistent and dedicated to their studies to achieve their personal bests:
Year 7 – Sophie Gahan
Year 8 – Bella Forster
Year 9 – Caitlin Healy
Year 10 – Ella Doyle
Year 11 – Lauren Donaghue
Year 12 – Blaney Arbouin & Isabella Scott Enders
Congratulations to all these students. Lourdes Hill is extremely proud of your efforts.
