Cabaret 2015: Winter Solstice - 17 August 2015

The Extra-Curricular Music and Drama Department fought the winter chill on Friday 31 July with great food and even better entertainment at the biannual Cabaret, ‘Winter Solstice’. The Good Samaritan Centre was a sea of blue and white, with delicate snowflakes decorating the tables.

Guests were warmly welcomed by Year 7 fairies and were entertained by our talented LHC musicians, actors and guest dancer, Meghan Hansen from Year 9.

Many pieces with the words ‘winter’ or ‘snow’ in their title were featured as well as songs from the band, Coldplay. Of course, an evening based on a winter theme could not be produced without a song or two from the Disney movie, ‘Frozen’. Concert Choir and Poco Voce concluded the 2015 Cabaret with a fun and uplifting medley of songs from this well-loved movie.

The two MC’s, Zoe Miotti and Kara Tomkinson, were aptly dressed in ski attire and were charming hosts for the evening.

Congratulations and thank you to all the students, music and drama staff, conductors and accompanists, the Technical Services and Maintenance Teams, those who assisted with tickets, programs and catering, to the Friends of Music Society and all parents who assisted on the night. It was a magical evening.
