Lourdes Hill celebrates outstanding OP results - 15 January 2015

Queensland’s OP results were released on Saturday 20 December and Lourdes Hill College students have achieved some outstanding results.

Eight of the College’s 2014 graduates received an OP 1, with an additional five OP 2 recipients – the College’s best result to date.

A record-breaking 19.2 per cent of the College’s OP-eligible Year 12 students received an OP 1 to 4.

College Principal, Ms Robyn Anderson, said that the results were a reflection of the hard work and determination of last year’s senior cohort.

“We could not be more proud of our graduating students of 2014,” she said.

“These results demonstrate the academic strength and work ethic of our students, and the outstanding learning environment we provide at Lourdes Hill College.

“The girls are to be commended for their achievements, which will put them in a great position to receive their first QTAC preference when tertiary offers are made this week.

“We have also heard from a number of our Vocational Education graduates, whose achievements have allowed them to take the next major step in fulfilling their career objectives.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank our truly dedicated team of teaching staff, who go above and beyond to ensure that each of our students can reach their full potential.”

Ms Anderson said that Lourdes Hill College’s academic mentoring program was one example of how the College helps students to achieve personal excellence.

“Our staff work one-on-one with students to monitor and guide their progress as they navigate their way through their secondary school years,” she said.

“It is the wonderful partnership that our staff share with our students which we believe is the formula for success.”

Ms Anderson also thanked parents and carers for their support.

“Our parents and carers are to be thanked and congratulated for their ongoing support to their daughters and the College community,” she said.

“Without their support, results like these could not be achieved.

“We wish all our graduates of 2014 every success in their journey ahead, and look forward to hearing about the many ways they will continue to step forward in the future.”
