|Remembering those “gone to God” - 10 November 2014|
Lourdes Hill’s Past Pupils gathered in the new Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes on Saturday 1 November at the annual Past Pupils’Memorial Mass to remember those who have recently passed away.
Past pupil and College historian, Peita Ward, said that it was a very special service.
“It was the first time the Past Pupils had gathered in the new Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes. To do so…on the feast of All Saints, was particularly moving, especially as we remembered those who have "gone to God", as the Good Sams say,”she said.
The ladies marvelled at the new chapel, and commented that its fountain reminded them of the water that flowed in the Grotto many years ago.
Peita said that the ladies were grateful to Ms Rachel O’Brien, who provided the music during the Mass.
“She always plays the Lourdes Hymn at the right pace - and we love her for that,”Peita said.
Following the Mass, Deputy Principal –Mission, Mr John Clarke, escorted the ladies on a tour of the Bernadette Centre, where they enjoyed taking in the beautiful views across Brisbane and marvelled at the quality of the new facilities.
Morning tea followed, enabling the ladies to catch up in a more informal environment.
