|Lourdes stars shine at Women in Sport Breakfast - 21 October 2014|
Five Lourdes Hill sporting stars and five HPE teachers attended the Women in Sport Breakfast at the Brisbane Convention Centre on Wednesday 15 October.
The intent of this event was to celebrate female sporting achievement and to inspire the next generation to get active and healthy.
The MC, Jessica Skarratt from Channel 7, interviewed a panel of three athletes, Cate Campbell (swimming), Courtney Hancock (ironwoman) and Holly Ferling (cricket). These athletes shared their challenges, successes and tips for the audience and provided a truly inspiring morning.
Congratulations to the three Lourdes Hill students who received Rising Star Sporting Performance Awards (Commended): Gracie Roy (Year 8), Rhyleigh Brown (Year 9) and Natalie Otway (Year 9).
Congratulations also to our Year 10 students, Elena Green and Georgia Sheehan who received Shooting Star Sporting Awards (Highly Commended). Georgia was a finalist for the overall Sporting Star Award.
This Women in Sport breakfast was a wonderful opportunity for Lourdes students to shine and celebrate their sporting achievements and to be inspired for the future.
