|LHC Rowers impress at Head of the River - 02 September 2014|
The 2014 rowing season reached its highly-anticipated peak on the weekend, with the annual Brisbane Schools Rowing Association (BSRA) Head of the River being held at Lake Kawana on the Sunshine Coast.
More than 220 competitors representing 10 schools had competed for five weeks in the lead-up to this regatta with points being accumulated each week.
The performance of the regatta for Lourdes came from the Senior Four, who achieved an impressive 2nd place in their A final. This is a great oucome for a group of girls who demonstrated courage, resilience and determination through what has been a tough season.
Congratulations to Phoebe Byrne, Alyssa Townsend, Miranda Mahoney, Ysabella Bennet, Grainne McGuire, Olivia McQueen and Jessie Ault on your outstanding achievement.
Overall the performances on the day showed that LHC has depths of talent, particularly in the younger age groups and we can look forward to a bright rowing future at Lourdes Hill in the coming years.
Well done to all the girls for their participation in this event and performances throughout the season.
We would also like to thank members of the LHC community who were in attendance to support and cheer on the LHC team. Finally, thank you to the Lourdes Hill College Parent Supporters Group who did a fantastic job catering for the thousands of spectators and competitors on the day.
