Sabrina recognised for state-wide award - 09 May 2014

Lourdes Hill College graduate Sabrina Schreiber was recently announced as a Highly Commended recipient in the 2014 TJ Ryan Memorial Medals and Scholarships.

Sabrina, who was the 2013 College Service Captain and Archbishop Duhig Award recipient, was selected for the state-wide award based on her strong academic record and leadership skills.

She received her award, which included a $1000 scholarship to assist with tertiary studies, from the Minister for Education, Training and Employment John-Paul Langbroek at a ceremony at Education House, Brisbane on Tuesday 29 April.

Sabrina said that her scholarship money would be put to good use as she continues her first year studies towards a Bachelor of Economics/Bachelor of Law at The University of Queensland.

TJ Ryan Memorial Medals and Scholarships are awarded each year to support exemplary Queensland students who demonstrate outstanding leadership in their school and community and academic excellence through their achievements in Year 12.

Each year, schools are invited to nominate one student for the awards, which are named after Thomas Joseph Ryan, a teacher and barrister who served as Queensland’s Premier from 1915 to 1919.
