Helping local families in need - 09 May 2014

Lourdes Hill College’s commitment to social justice continued with great enthusiasm when a number of fundraising activities were held for Vinnies Week from 28 April to 2 May.

This worthy event takes place each year to support the many local families who are in need.

Vinnies Captains Michelle Killalea and Tadaya Mujdrica organised various lunchtime activities including a cupcake stall, trivia competition and a Beggar’s Banquet.

The activities were enthusiastically supported by all students.

The week ended with the annual Comfy Clothes Day, where students and staff were encouraged to make a gold coin donation for the privilege of wearing casual clothes during the school day.

Students and staff were also invited to donate clothing items as part of the cause.

The week’s fundraising ventures accumulated a total of $887.15.
