Vinnies Week 2018 - 11 May 2018

The St Vincent de Paul Society is a lay Catholic organisation that aspires to live the gospel message by serving Christ to shape a more just and compassionate society.

At Lourdes Hill College, we aim to bring this mission to life through our dedication to raising much needed funds for those in need. This is achieved throughout the College by a diverse range of service groups, such as St Vincent de Paul.  Last week (Week 3) was a week dedicated to Vinnies, when students worked as a team to put on events to raise money for our neighbours in need. Vinnies Week was a great success, as students banded together for activities such as ‘guess the lollies in the jar’, lob-a-choc and a bake sale.

The Vinnies girls showed exceptional commitment and worked hard to ensure all these activities ran smoothly with plenty of donations. In addition to this, on the Friday, we held a “Comfy Clothes Day”, when students had the opportunity to wear their sports uniforms to school to raise even more money for Vinnies.

We are ever grateful for the girls’ commitment to serving their community.
