Georgia's Our Golden Girl! - 27 April 2018

Congratulations to our very own Georgia Sheehan (graduate of 2016) who was successful in claiming GOLD and SILVER at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games in her sport of diving.

Together with teammate, Esther Qin, Georgia claimed the podium's top spot for her synchronised three metre dive, before going on to win Silver in the individual one metre springboard event.

Following her Gold Medal success, Georgia posted to her Instagram page:

"My heart is still racing and my mouth hurts from smiling so much!! Thank you so much @estherqin [Esther Qin] for being an amazing synchro partner, @coachady88 [Coach Ady Hinchliffe] for continuing to help me grow as an athlete and everybody who helped us get here today."

Some of the LHC community may remember Georgia, who as a Year 10 student, was the youngest Australian athlete to be selected to compete at the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games. She placed fourth in her event in Glasgow, and the LHC community could not be prouder to see Georgia go on to win gold and silver on the Gold Coast this year.

The College looks forward to welcoming Georgia back to her old school to speak to our students as soon as her training and competition schedules permit.
