LHC Unites Against Bullying - 29 March 2018

On Friday 16 March, the Lourdes Hill College community came together to take a stand against bullying for the annual Bullying No Way Day. From the early hours of the morning, students and staff were encouraged to take and wear wristbands in order to raise awareness of this important issue. It was great to see all the girls and staff enthusiastically taking part.

Throughout lunchtime, a ‘sing along’ was held in the GSC, with student leaders and creative arts staff encouraging girls to sing along to songs about inclusion of others and being yourself. Songs included ‘This is Me’ from The Greatest Showman and ‘We’re all in This Together’ from High School Musical. Beck House and Hendriks House used the opportunity to fundraise for Project Compassion, with Beck selling pasta and Hendriks selling ice-cream. Project Compassion so far has been a great success with all Houses continuing to fundraise for ‘A Just Future’ for countries in need around the globe.

Overall, Bullying No Way Day highlighted our 2018 College theme of A Spirited Community, with girls and staff continuing to take a stand against bullying.
