LHC Graduates Inducted at QUT Vice-Chancellor's Scholars Welcome Function - 29 March 2018

On Thursday 15 March, it was my great pleasure to attend the 2018 Vice Chancellor’s Scholars Welcome Function, where three of our 2017 graduates were inducted as recipients of the university’s Vice Chancellor’s Scholarships.

2017 College Dux, Zoe Genrich, was welcomed as a recipient of a $30,000 Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship (Academic) for her Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Mathematics.

Lillian Jurss-McGuckin also received a $30,000 Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship (Academic) for her Bachelor of Biomedical Science.

Kathleen Bramadat, meanwhile, received $10,000 Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship (Creative Industries) for her Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Fine Arts.

These three outstanding past pupils are amongst the 25% of OP eligible Year 12 students from LHC who achieved an OP 1 to 5 in 2017.

A number of other 2017 graduates have reported that they have also received tertiary scholarships this year, including:

  • Ashlee Daunt, who received a $36,000 Corporate Partners in Excellence Scholarship for her Bachelor of Business (Accounting & Finance)
  • Grace Perkins, who received a $24,000 Sir Samuel Griffith Scholarship for her Bachelor of Marine Science at Griffith University
  • Madison Hampson, who received a $6000 Women in Engineering Scholarship for her Bachelor of Engineering at QUT
  • Peyton Jewell, who received a full rowing scholarship for her Bachelor of Art Management and Entrepreneurship at the Southern Methodist University, Texas, USA

Congratulations to all these past pupils. The College continues to be very proud of all your efforts and we wish you well for your future endeavours.
