Rebecca Sparrow Inspires Middle School - 02 March 2018

Last Tuesday, the Middle School was treated to another very special visit from renowned author and speaker, Rebecca Sparrow.

On this visit, Rebecca first met with the 53 Year 9 Cultural, Spiritual, Sport and House Leaders and taught us many skills about leadership and what it means to be a leader, all of which we will definitely take on board. After this, the four Middle School Leaders were fortunate enough to spend a whole lesson with Rebecca. We were able to hear her story and her life experiences. A key concept she taught us was the difference between the two forms of popularity: There are those who are popular because of their looks and possessions but there are also people who are popular for who they are as a leader. Finally, she discussed with us the importance of standing up for others and using our position to encourage others to fulfil their potential.

Following this session, Rebecca joined the entire Middle School at our Assembly, where she spoke to the girls about ‘finding our tribe’, and surrounding ourselves with people who are positive influences in our lives.

Meeting with Rebecca was inspirational and a great opportunity.
