If you tune in to 98.9FM each week, you may catch our talented Year 10 student, Mikayla-Haze Adams-Houston, in action as part of her school-based traineeship with Triple A Training.
Mikayla-Haze commenced her Certificate III in Screen and Media with radio station, 98.9FM, in Term 2 this year and has been quick to prove her worth as a radio announcer.
You can catch Mikayla-Haze from 7.30am to 9.00am each Wednesday participating in the on-air brekkie show with Jamie Dunn. During her traineeship, Mikayla has experienced a wide range of new opportunities, such as interviewing Chris Tamwoy, finalist from Australia’s Got Talent 2016 and Judah Kelly from the Voice 2017. Mikayla also had the exciting opportunity to work with Steven Oliver from the ABC’s sketch comedy program, “Black Comedy”.
Mikayla was also selected as the voiceover artist for a new Deadly Choices advertising campaign which is currently being played on five radio stations including Nova106.9 and hit105. Deadly Choices aims to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to make healthy choices for themselves and their families.
Most excitingly, Mikayla tells us she has been asked to demo for her own one-hour program – so watch this space for future success!
