Academic Awards - Semester 1, 2017 - 31 July 2017

On Friday 21 July, Lourdes Hill College paused to recognise the individual student achievements from Semester 1, 2017 at the biannual academic prize giving assembly. The academic leaders, led by our 2017 Academic Captain, Brigitte Forrester, continued their reflection on the Habit of Mind for 2017, Striving for Accuracy.

We were entertained and educated by our academic leaders’ presentation of a video outlining all the characteristics of a perfect study date and how to make good choices. Captain Mind Habit was onboard yet again to hand out the Habit of Mind awards to a small selection of students who truly model how to behave when approaching their studies.

Academic Award recipients are students who received seven or more As in Years 7, 8 and 9 and more than five As in Years 10-12 in Semester 1, 2017. The full list of recipients is available here. Congratulations to all these students on their fine academic results.

A special mention also went to the six students who were awarded Habits of Mind medals for always being consistent and dedicated to their studies to achieve their personal bests:

Year 7 - Abbie Akehurst

Year 8 - Nur Suraya Syaharom

Year 9 - Jessica Vanden Berg

Year 10 - Isabelle Manuel

Year 11 - Lillia Vickers

Year 12 - Freya Tanzer

Congratulations again to all these students. The College is extremely proud of your efforts.
