NAPLAN 2017 - 16 May 2017

Congratulations to our Year 7 and Year 9 students on completing the 2017 National Assessment Program - Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) test this week.

The LHC Middle School Curriculum empowers our students to continually develop their literacy and numeracy skills, and our teaching staff have done a wonderful job in preparing the girls well for the test. Thank you to parents for your ongoing support at home, ensuring your daughters went to bed early and were well prepared in regards to food and uniform each day.

Our “calm, happy and positive” approach at LHC shone through over the three days of testing. Students came with a positive mindset, wanting to do their best. At the halfway mark, we treated the girls to a morning tea of hot cinnamon donuts, which were very well received!

From a student's persective, Middle School Leader, Mia Pafumi, said in her reflection of NAPLAN:

"We are very fortunate at LHC to have been well prepared for NAPLAN again this year, spending time in the lead up to this week going through NAPLAN booklets in Maths and English classes, and sitting multiple mock NAPLAN tests.

Through all of this preparation, we have been taught the best way to handle NAPLAN: to just try our very best on the day, apply what we have learned and focus on the questions being asked. Our preparation extends to ensuring a good night’s sleep before the tests, eating a good breakfast beforehand and making sure we have all our required materials with us on the day.  Most importantly, we have learned to always read the questions carefully, and respond in the best way we can. It has been these small acts of preparation that have helped us to know what to expect and to quell any anxiety.

Congratulations to all LHC students who sat the test this week. I know our results will be amazing!"

We are very proud of our girls.
