Lourdes Hill pays its respects to the Anzacs - 27 April 2017

Lourdes Hill College marked Anzac Day with a series of events.

Last week, Middle School Assembly was dedicated to the Anzacs, with students moved by an inspiring presentation by Year 12 student, Gabriella Di Bella. Gabriella spoke of her experiences as a cadet in the Air Force, and of her dream to pursue a career in the armed forces.  She received a standing ovation from all Middle School students.

On Monday, the four Middle School Leaders, Ellie Barbagallo, Caitlin Kearney, Binta Lamin and Mia Pafumi, represented the College at the 2017 Anzac Day School Service at Anzac Square. The girls laid a wreath at the service and had the opportunity to meet Queensland Premier, Annastacia Palaszczuk (pictured below).

On Anzac Day on Tuesday, around 50 Lourdes Hill girls, from all year levels, marched at the 2017 Bulimba Anzac Day service. Some girls proudly wore the medals of their grandparents and other relatives. Another wreath was laid at the service, on behalf of the Lourdes Hill community.
