|A is for Adele, B is for Bieber, C is for CABARET - 21 March 2017|
My days are filled with working alongside students with immense drive, passion and enthusiasm for the performing arts. I want to share their talent with you!
Just as Adele united 60,000 Queenslanders and Justin Bieber brought together the teenagers of Brisbane at their recent concerts this month, I want to unite the Lourdes Hill College community through music. On Friday 28 April, all LHC families and friends are warmly invited to attend the 2017 Cabaret Showcase, titled “Alice’s Adventures to Wonderland” and be energised by the 200 student performers that will make you feel proud to be a Lourdanian.
The Cabaret Showcase is more than a performing arts event. It is an opportunity to connect as a community and offer praise to students who work hard outside of the classroom. The students in Concert Band, String Ensemble, Flute Ensemble, Drama Ensemble, Dance Troupe and the Musical Showcase cast would welcome many familiar faces in the audience. Music captain, Priya Shah, commented, “It’s seeing the big smiles from our friends when we perform that makes turning up to rehearsals each week worthwhile.” To add to Priya’s sentiments, her co-captain, Hazel Sikakau said, “I like it when I hear lots of laughter and clapping. It means that people are being entertained and that makes me feel good.”
On Friday 28 April, at 7pm, join us for a night of student performances. Let the musicians, actors and dancers take you on a journey that offers entertainment and the wisdom of Alice as she learns that it is who you are on the inside that counts!
Tickets can now be purchased online at www.stickytickets.com.au/50301/cabaret_showcase.aspx
