In conjunction with the College Archives Department, the Lourdes Hill Public Library looks to collect, preserve, record, exhibit and maintain information and other materials about the history of the College as well as provide books and other library material for reading, study, reference and borrowing.
Examples of items available within the library include:
Information, artwork, ephemera and memorabilia about the history of the College.
Books regarding the Catholic Church, the Sisters of the Good Samaritan, Good Samaritan Education as well as other religious texts and materials.
Other Collections deemed important or of public interest by the College and/or the Lourdes Hill Foundation Library Trust.
The Lourdes Hill Public Library is located at Ground Floor, Benedict Centre, 86 Hawthorne Road, Hawthorne and supported by staff located within the adjacent College Reception and the main College Library (situated on Levels 2 & 3 of the Benedict Centre).
The library is open to the public between 9:30am and 3:00pm, Monday – Friday during school term (and hours can be extended upon special request). Non-display items requested from the College Archives are also available to access on Thursdays and Fridays.
Access to the library is via booking only and can be made by contacting Library Staff during opening hours on (07) 3399 0419.
On arrival, all visitors are requested to sign-in at the Lourdes Hill College Reception, at which time a member of the College staff will direct you to the Library.
There is no admission fee charged to access the Public Library.
