Lourdes Hill College is committed to making a mark in the local and global community. Connections with community groups through academic partnerships, service and immersions help to build a strong network of influence.
Academic partnerships include working with tertiary institutions to offer our students clear pathways for future study.
Students also have access to:
Piersim - a powerful 3D simulation learning tool designed to assist students, teachers and the corporate sector develop skills in business, management, accounting, ecconomics and communication.
A partnership with UQ to explore Chinese language and culture through the establishment of a dedicated Confucius classroom.
Community service through collections, awareness raising and outreach enhance our connectedness to the real world and encourage our commitment to "doing likewise"
Immersion opportunities are offered to senior students so they can connect on a deeper, skin-to-skin level with our brothers and sisters in other areas and be of service. Among the immersion opportunities currently on offer, students can go to Santa Teresa in Central Australia, Mater Dei in Camden and join with other students from Good Samaritan Education schools around Australia for a Ministry Outreach Immersion in Sydney or an immersion to The Philippines.
The web of relationships that makes up this community is incredibly complex. "Once a Lourdanian, always a Lourdanian" summarises our understanding of the connections that underpin this community. Many people connect with Lourdes Hill College by volunteering. Please see our Volunteers Polcy here
